Snark of the Apostates

Posted on May 9, 2021

Good godless morning, friends!

Today is the day Mother Nature has made! Let’s rejoice and be glad in it! Woot! Woot!

I’ve recently enjoyed some snarky apostate content that I’d like to share with you today! Check ’em out! Like, sub, & support some!

In Wikipedia Debunks Jehovah’s Witnesses on Bible Prophecy, Lloyd Evans dismantles’s claims about JW and Biblical scriptures relating to the prophecies of Daniel. His analysis, argument, and documentation make me want to stand up and cheer, because many apocalyptic believers use a similar interpretation, and Lloyd’s analysis of the OT refutes the claims that are often used regarding the prophecies of apocalypse, rapture, and other “end of the world” nonsense. It is a serious subject, but Lloyd’s friendly and good-humored personality make it easy to listen to him discuss even very painful topics, such as his own pain from being shunned by family for leaving JWs.

Another apostate content creator who I’ve recently discovered is nuancehoe, and she ROASTS LDS leaders mercilessly in this amazing TikToc compilation, in the vein of the “Pass the Phone” challenge. In this skit, she portrays Mormon leaders spilling the tea on each other, going all the way back to Joseph Smith. Damn! That’s some strong tea! I dig her boldness and conviction!

Exmo Lex is another bold ex-Mormon who is serving a strong brew. Her Exmo Lex TikTok Videos Compilation starts with an examination of a text written by a Mormon apostle that explains why Mormon racism is godly. She expertly documents her argument with textual support from Mormon texts. She then moves on to portraying her former Mormon self and other Mormons who rail against all sorts of “unholiness” that offends Mormons. She knows her former religion and shines a light on its many troubling teachings. I really enjoy her lively performances which often include super-cringey LDS songs that will be annoying earworms for her for as long as she lives.

In this parody of Girl Defined, a “Biblical womanhood” channel, nuancehoe and Sam from Zelph on the Shelf advise girls and women on “modesty.” Learn how to put together cute outfits that honor the genocidal, child rapist god of the Bible! Enjoy!

Finally, check out Joseph Kraus, an incredibly courageous teen who left his high-control, Hasidic Jewish cult, without knowing English, and with no support system. His story illustrates many ways that religion can be abusive to children, and I really admire him for leaving–as well as worry about his safety. He is currently in a foster home in Houston, and his English and understanding of life “on the outside” grows by leaps and bounds daily.

On this Mothers Day, let’s take a moment to remember and support the folks around us who are not celebrating the mother-child bond, because religion has poisoned this sacred human lifeline. All of the content creators I’ve mentioned today have spoken of how they have suffered from religious poisoning of their family relationships. The effects religion can have on our most significant relationships is one of the most troubling aspects of Religious Trauma Syndrome, and Mothers Day can be triggering for many.

To all the children of our Mother, the Earth:

May you be happy.

May you be well.

May you be free from suffering.

May you be at peace.
